Julie Hillman Design, an AD100 interior design firm specializing in high-end residential projects, is seeking a highly organized and motivated Junior Project Assistant/Interior Designer to join our team full-time. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow within a dynamic studio and gain comprehensive experience across all phases of the design process.

We are looking for someone with a proactive mindset, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The right candidate is passionate about design, eager to learn, and comfortable supporting senior team members while independently managing day-to-day project needs.

– Support Senior Interior Designer/Project Manager across multiple high-end residential projects from concept through installation

– Assist in preparing client presentations, furniture plans, design boards, and material palettes

– Produce CAD drawings including floor plans, elevations, and furniture layouts

– Draft detailed furniture and upholstery specifications for custom production

– Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, contractors, and architects on design intent and timelines

– Research and source furniture, finishes, lighting, textiles, and accessories aligned with project direction

– Organize and create fabric and material stories for presentations and internal review

– Track and review vendor invoices and samples; maintain project documentation and records

– Help create and maintain architectural schedules (plumbing, hardware, lighting, etc.)

– Maintain project calendars, follow up on action items, and help ensure deadlines are met

– Take daily direction from and communicate effectively with Senior Designer/Project Manager

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field preferred

Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp experience a plus

Familiarity with Design Manager is a strong plus

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Excellent organizational, time management, and follow-through skills

Strong verbal and written communication

Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and resourceful

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

A positive, solutions-oriented attitude with a genuine desire to grow within the firm
