The Acadian Home Builders Association is set to present the 63rd annual Parade of Homes, bringing an opportunity to explore the latest trends in home design, architecture and interior decorating.

Over two weekends — April 5-6 and April 12-13 — visitors can tour more than 25 homes by Acadiana builders. The event will run from 1 to 6 p.m. each day.  Blake Romero, the 2025 Parade of Homes chairman, said this year’s event offers something special for attendees.

“This year, we have a new feature — we’re showcasing an entire development,” Romero said. “Visitors can see the amenities offered in the development, view available lots, and tour multiple homes to see different floor plans and home features.”

Romero also highlighted the inclusion of several first-time builders.

“These new builders bring fresh ideas, reminding us that even though this is the Parade’s 63rd year, each year offers a unique experience for our attendees,” Romero said.  Attendees can expect to see cutting-edge design trends at this year’s event. Romero added that visitors will encounter “more color and texture throughout the homes.” This marks a shift towards bolder, more vibrant aesthetics in residential design, adding a unique touch to every home featured in the Parade, he said.  The Parade not only benefits homebuyers but also supports the Acadiana community and local builders.

“Visitors get the chance to learn about the latest trends in home design, while local builders have the opportunity to showcase their craftsmanship,” Romero said. “Even if you’re not currently in the market for a new home, the builders and subcontractors may be available for future upgrades and remodeling projects.”  For first-time visitors, Romero recommends a few steps to maximize the Parade experience, including purchasing tickets before April 5 to take advantage of the early bird discount at www.acadianhba.com.

“And be sure to download the Parade of Homes app to plan your route,” Romero said. “It’s a great way to see the map and get driving directions to each home, allowing you to go at your own pace during the event.”  Incorporating modern technology, the Parade of Homes app has enhanced the visitor experience. The app provides a detailed map, directions to homes and builder contacts, helping attendees navigate with ease.

The craftsmanship and innovation of Acadiana’s homebuilders are key aspects of the Parade, according to Romero.

“Our members are leading contractors and vendors in the area, known for their high-quality work and use of innovative products,” he said. “These builders are deeply invested in the community and work hard to create homes that reflect the region’s culture and values.”  Visitors interested in connecting with builders and designers can do so during the event. All Parade homes will have the builder present during the tour. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and make connections with the builders and designers as they explore the homes.

The Parade of Homes will showcase a variety of styles, from starter homes to expansive estates, and features premier neighborhoods such as Greyford Estates, The Vineyard and Audubon Lakes. For a full list of homes and builders and to purchase tickets, visit the AHBA website.  Tickets for the event are $15 for early bird purchases through April 4 and $20 after that date. Tickets will be available for purchase at the front door of houses. Each ticket grants access to all participating homes during the event.
