‘For a modern take on NYE glam, I love embracing the art of mixing silver and gold,’ says entertaining expert and founder of eponymous lifestyle store, Kim Seybert.’Think gilded placemats paired with crystal accents and shimmering details, to create a table that feels rich and effortlessly chic.’
Keep the rest of the table neutral – think crisp white linens and delicate dinnerware to allow the metallics to really sing. ‘The contrast of silver and gold brings sophistication to the table and reflects candlelight beautifully, adding instant drama to the table,’ adds Kim.
5. Add Glamor With a Bar Cart

Having a console or side table in the dining room is handy for easing the pressure off the dining table as it can be used as a serving station for food or for storing bulky items like large ice buckets for wine and Champagne. Think about seasonings, fruits, veggies, cheeses, grapes, displayed in a way that guests won’t know whether they’re the centerpiece or the main course.’
If you’re serving seafood recipes Billy suggests slicing up some lemons and scattering them with herbs to create a ‘visually stunning but also functional serving area.’
