SHREVEPORT, La. — Hundreds of visitors took advantage of a unique opportunity this weekend to explore the newest trends in home construction and design during the annual Parade of Homes, hosted by the Home Builders Association of Northwest Louisiana.

With only one more weekend remaining, this showcase gives potential buyers — and daydreamers alike — a firsthand look at 33 homes across Shreveport, Bossier, Benton, Stonewall and Greenwood. From architectural highlights to high-end amenities, the event offers something for everyone curious about what’s new in the world of home building.

As the event approached, local builders worked tirelessly to ensure every detail was picture-perfect.

“We’re working and trying to make sure everything’s spotless, that all the countertops look great, the hardware is in,” said Jonathan Ford of Vintage Homes. “You’re running around trying to make sure everything’s perfect.”

Vintage Homes is one of three builders featured in the Provenance neighborhood in South Shreveport — an area known for its planned-community charm and modern urbanism design. The others involved are Wimberly Homes and Josh Knicely Builders.

Visitors are not only admiring architectural styles, but also the finer touches inside each home. Cheryl Dunson, a broker with Provenance Realty Group, noted how the attention to detail resonates with potential buyers.

“They’re so impressed with the ceiling height and the finish work,” she said. “Sometimes, homes are beautiful in the front, but the back bedrooms feel unfinished. That’s not the case here—every space feels carefully designed.”

Amenities on display include monogram appliances concealed behind custom cabinetry, fully equipped outdoor kitchens, statement lighting fixtures, and even creative storage solutions like off-season clothing hideaway racks.

While the homes themselves are a draw, many attendees are also seeking a sense of community.

“I mean, we have markets, movies, concerts — it’s all walkable,” Dunson added, highlighting what makes the Provenance neighborhood especially appealing to families and lifestyle-focused buyers.

For builders, the event isn’t just about selling houses — it’s about planting seeds.

“There are certainly people who come through just to look around,” said Dunson. “But five years down the line, they might remember a specific feature or builder and that can lead to a future sale.”

The 2025 Parade of Homes continues for one more weekend, with hours open from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased online here or at any of the participating homes.

Whether you’re in the market for a new home or simply love to see what’s possible in residential design, the Parade of Homes offers a rich glimpse into the craftsmanship and innovation happening right here in Northwest Louisiana.
